Casting spells and equipping weapons question.

In the demo when you cast a spell and equip a weapon before the spell animation/cast sequence has finished does it interupt the spell? I believe on OSI during the time I played ( late 1998 - 2000 ) equipping a weapon resulted in the current spell being cast , would be interupted. Can anyone confirm or deny this ? Or atleast shed a little bit of info on the subject? I am struggling to find verifyable information.

There are some discussions on this topic on UOSA, here is atleast one I could find with google: I'm sure with a litle bit more effort more can be found there. <Derrick> RunUO AI is kind of a functional prototype, which i have hacked into something resembling OSI behavior, but only by complitcating everything
